Ministries and health authorities responsible for public health policy, healthcare services, and the overall well-being of citizens. They manage hospitals, healthcare programs, and initiatives to improve public health outcomes.
To enhance the quality and accessibility of patient information across multiple healthcare agencies, an project was initiated for the implementation of a unified Clinical Information Solution (CIS). The CIS aimed to create integrated patient records using standardized processes and a single identifier, focusing on foundational components like diagnostic imaging, laboratory, and pharmacy solutions, as well as developing a robust clinical data repository and an electronic viewing platform. We developed the CIS strategy and detailed business case, leading large multidisciplinary teams through the initial design and implementation phases. Our responsibilities included overseeing multiple complex, concurrent CIS projects from initiation through to post-implementation review and closure.

To enable electronic access to clinical information and provide last-mile connectivity to family physicians and specialists within a regional health authority, a pilot project was initiated as a learning lab. The goal was to develop approaches that could become the toolkit for a broader regional model, including implementation and change management strategies, as well as operational and financial sustainment models. Mejora was engaged to lead the development of the project planning deliverables, which included the project charter, project plan, communications plan, physician engagement strategy, business requirements, solution concept model, and logical architecture

An initiative to identify and develop a database that managed and provided information of laboratory results to physicians across the province was identified to be a key enabler towards the realization of the electronic health record for BC residents. This solution would provide results from both public and private laboratory service providers anywhere in the province. Mejora was engaged to provide a leading role in strategy and planning for the project, including developing a comprehensive business case and key deliverables required for funding requirements for the solution. This included documentation of the current state, future vision definition, PIAs, stakeholder assessments, and change management strategies, among others. We also managed timelines, resources, and other budgetory requirements ensuring the outcomes of the project were realized.
